First experience:
I have been called up to go for an interview at Fuji Xerox Tower, Pathfinder Alliance Pte Ltd. Initially, i thought it was some kind of Audit firm so I thought no harm trying out since I’m desperately looking for a job. However, the weird thing is that the HR Executive named Evonne called and asked to go for the interview, she didn’t state the position that I’m applying for, the unit no. and I was told to go down to the tower. And when i reached the tower, i had to wait for her call to give me the unit no. #06-00. WTF is that?! Its a pretty weird way to go an interview! Nevertheless, I just go for it. When I was about to sign in at the security counter, i saw the log in book with all the word PRUDENTIAL!!! Suddenly, it just strike me that I didn’t even apply for this job at all!! To be kind and polite, I just went ahead for the F**king interview and after the whole session I tell myself that I will not ever step in the tower again.. AND GUESS WAT!!!!
Second experience:
I got a call again for an interview! And its the same bloody place – Fuji Xerox Tower, however I was given by a different company name, Forward Careers. I was kinda happy at first but the thought of the tower, I was skeptical to go down cause I don’t to waste my time and money to go down to the same place and got the same bloody P********L interviewing me. So I decided to call this lady, Lee Hui Wen 6228450 to double confirm that they are really recruitment agency not Prudential. However, I still feel uncomfortable going down so I decided to google search and came across lots of forum discussing about it. In the end, I gave a call and told her that I’m not going down else it will be a waste of my trip!
So to all out there.. if you ever heard of anyone asking you to go for any interview especially to Fuji Xerox Tower and you are not interested to become an agent or whatever so.. my advice is DON”T GO THERE AT ALL regardless which level you have been given! To me, it was such a turnoff when I heard the tower name! Unless a reputable company called for an interview..
Anyway, good luck to all the job seeker out there!

Hi Berilyn, to add on to the above.
Yes, I had similar experiences with them..
I was called up. Then I realized it was an insurance agent job. I rejected instantly. They offered me a telemarketing job on a part time basis.
I took up the job as they offered me $7/hour. They agreed and even told me the hours are flexible. I planned out my working schedule with them and even passed them all my personal particulars. Eventually, on the day to report for work, I called them up, to find out whom do I report to? Guess what??? Their reply is oh…the position is already filled up and i was too busy to inform you.
Firstly, why is it that on the first interview, they offered me the position? Secondly, why is it that they didn’t even bother to tell me? Thirdly, how did they get hold of my mobile number?
Who can I report to for such Unprofessional company practice?

Hi there..I think it have to depends on who you dealing with..I just went to Pathfinder for interview two weeks ago for the post of HR Executives also..I was considering after I saw all ur comments here..however I always think no harm to know more and I don’t want to waste any possible opportunity..Therefore I went down subsequently..Surprisingly they just interviewed me for HR executive only..when I took the initiative to ask them about career of agent..They told me that they don’t accept people easily and need more time to know me if I want to be agent..And guess what happened?I just started working as HR with them 3 days ago..Yeah..my director told me that many people get the wrong idea from internet..therefore it’s easier for those who “don’t mind to know more”..My personal opinion is……..Go down to find out as there are many teams there..they are operating differently..You never know that you are going to miss the opportunity if you didn’t go down..If they really talk to you all about agent..then you can just leave the place if you are not interested..You never know there may be another HR or secretary job waiting for you as what offered to me until you go down..true? :>

Hi, I received a call today from a guy and he claimed to have read my CV with details. Arranged for an interview for tomorrow. He can’t tell me for sure who he represents and what they sell. Good thing I came upon your blog. Just saved me a lot of time.
By the way, this is also a misrepresentation of information and services. It is not lawful.

Hi all, i think its depend on which group you are going for interview. There are always bad eggs in any basket. Ask for more details, you can always not go if you are not convinced. I went there before. I also hesitated as I read abt it in forum, but I went instead. The guy who interview me today for a Biz Dev position was looking for operational support for his agency. He did not even share with me anything about agent job. He said he will be happy to if I am interested. He just told me that if I am employed, it will be under his agency payroll with HR benefits and not under Prudential or Pathfinder. He also explained about the difference in organisation and job scopes. He knew about the adverse comments but just said that he use this topic as a discussion to assess the individual’s personality and sincerity in getting the job instead. Maybe dont write off your job seeking chance so fast in today context.
Good Luck

monday, i received a call from 62220902 and 62222617 telling me that they have a marketing executive vacancy and have an interview thursday (25/3/10) 1pm. I went down there via taxi and paid S$20 back and forth since i can not able to meet the appointment at the said time (Point of origin: paya lebar) as i was about to answer the questionare the PATRICIA tell me that the position is not open to foreigners.
The unit number was 06-02 PATHFINDER ALLIANCE. I hope Singapore Government can do something about this. This brings bad name to the government.
tsk tsk tsk

Hi to all,
After reading all the comments above, here are a few things i would like highlight……
Whether it is Pathfinder.A you are talking about, or can be any company that has the same marketing approach, here is my experience that i would like to share with you.
1) recently i went for an interview, when i asked what position was i actually applying for, the guy said “telemarketing”, when i asked further what kind of product he didn’t answer but persuade me to go down for the interview……..so i went down to Lan Kui Fong street (opp Bugis Justion) so when i reached there they asked me to take a sit because the “talk” is going to start soon! what talk?????
yap! it was more like a seminor where they gathered about 40 people to sit in! In my mind i was thinking i am not here for a talk but should be one to one interview! Then the talk started, along with slide show…..it was a health suppliment product and diet products!! After the talk and slide show, they asked “so how many of you decided to join as member? And how many of you would like to join as direct sales? how many of you would like to buy this health products to try out first and introduce to your friends and family? ” I got angry! it was obviously a pyramid marketing where you join as a member and sale to your friends to get commission not the tele position as i thought i were applying for!!! I was pissed off!! i felt being cheated! it’s very dishonest to waste other people time to go down all the way then ended up different things!!!
2) about the Pathfinder.A…….many of us do not really understand the term they use, for instant when they say “assitant financial consultant” it could mean “telemarketing to an agent” or “consultant” it could mean “agent”, so make sure you ask them to verify well, also they are many different departments there although in general it’s about insurance and financial planning, sometimes different departments use different terms, so be sure you ask.
The bottom line is…….ask more before you go down for any interview!
Good Luck to all!

By the way…..be aware of ads that asking you to sms your particulars to apply the job instead of email your resume, as my experience with the Lan Kui Fong street uses this method!! then they call you to turn up for the interview ( or rather the slide show and talk to persuade you to became a member!!!!!!!)

I agree with Alex.
I went for the interview at Pathfinder.A as telemarketer but they use the term as “asst financial consultant”.
Well, I got the job as telemarketer as what i want!

Yeah i got a call last sat and ask me to come interview in monday.. called by evon lim.. she told me that she will send email. after an hour , i didn’t receive any email. so i wonder why she didn’t send email. finally, i found her email in spam folder. her email address was identfied as spam mail in gmail. i feel really uneasy about that coz i feel as scam… Monday i went for interview coz i also take as going down is no harm. i saw this webpage from my phone when i am waiting evon. i feel more disappoint but i still wait a few minutes to meet her since i am already in room…. WTF , i found i wasted time she is directly trying to recriut as agents… WTF she call me as management trainee. she told me only after 2 years in sales can join to management trainee. i told her immideately, i am not interested in sales (especially such kind of insurance sales) which is really FUCK up…

Hey is really good to put up comments on these issues.
Today i received a call to go for an interview at FujiXerox Tower and was told to call them when i reach there as and mentioned the security is tight that’s why cannot reveal the unit ##. This is really strange …if the company got nothing to hide and why so secretive…that’s when i check on the website and realised so much comments on these…thanks i will not attend the interview then…..phewww

Recently also went there for an interview , got called by someone say the viewed my resume at jobsCentral and say that i am suitable for this job as a financial consultant, abit surprised and confused at first because never apply for this post and my field of study nothing to do with finances. The caller told me pay will be around $3000 . So who dont want $3000?? you dont want meh ?? Still i was a bit sceptical so log in to jobscentral because i remembered a few company wanted to see my online resume , then check the company GNK, then google to find out more and came across this site but still stubborn and just take my chances lah who knows maybe my interview is different from what is said here. Went there outside can see prudential sign then go in the room , the guy say ” are you open to a career in sales” , i said no, he was like shocked and said not at all? Then i say i thought job was as a financial consultant , he said yeah and it requires to do sales also then ask about the pay (i have the $3000 in mind), then he say pay is based in commission …. then i say never mind i just come to find out more and what is the job scope like …. waste my time … be careful they are in jobscentral and will always wanna see your online resume , lots of different companies name but i think they all under prudential.

Pathfinder is actually a group of Prudential Agencies together, forming a company to take care of their support needs, so that the agents can have more support in their work, be it IT, admin, etc. As such, there will be positions unrelated to Prudential. Important thing is to ask what exactly position they are asking you in for, otherwise you should not go down.
JobCentral is visited not just by Prudential. AIA, Manulife, NTUC, etc, all have recruiters watching that site, so its not just Prudential, its all of them.
No offense, but to the guy who wants to get into a management job straight without any sales training/period, I believe no company in the world would allow that, not just insurance companies. How will you be able to manage people if you do not know what they are doing?

i think its kinda hilarious when i read all the Negative comments here. Is there any that’s more positive?
some common sense that is, which office doesnt have a door to secure the documents in their offices? especially with all the confidential, personal details of others such as, name, ic, address, phone no.,etc.
Let’s not say office, which HOME doesnt have a lock? which house’s door opens widely for 24 hours when nobody’s home?
it’s also interesting when humans dont like ppl to judge them by the first look and regard as “Bad,Lousy, bla bla bla” yet judgement is made when you guys didnt even give them a chance to express themselves. your thoughts brought the negativity to your surrounding and what ever they said is just like burps to you.
give a thought and think it through. if the job isnt suitable for you perhaps it might not be the same for someone else. then why judge it so negatively?
what’s more TRY is a little word but it makes a big difference. the Clothes that you like doesnt mean that others MUST like it too. just take LV for an example, not everyone likes it but why do they buy? its just cos of the branding, and there’s also replica. everywhere bounds to have a follower cos its humans who creates companies, every HUMAN wants attention not just companies.
allow yourself to decide, ultimately a job decides your own future. its up to you. why get influenced by other’s comment? are they even YOU?
